A record crowd of close to seventy people were in attendance as Kishwaukee Health Foundation honored the past year’s donors to Valley West Community Hospital. On July 14, Valley West donors were treated to an old fashioned ice cream social, served by Health Foundation board members and administration. Health Foundation Board President Virginia Larsen welcomed the group, and offered her thanks for everyone’s support.

Brad Copple, Valley West Hospital President, indicated that everyone at Valley West is very appreciative of the support received from local community members and employees. Together with Mike Muzzillo, Vice President of Operations at Valley West, Copple thanked donors for their commitment to the future. Muzzillo also spoke about the many accomplishments over the past year and new services offered at Valley West.

Health Foundation Executive Director Renee Ellingson read the names of those who qualified for a leaf on the Tree of Life at Valley West this year, and those in attendance were presented with a certificate of appreciation.  “The ice cream celebration is our chance to thank all of our donors for their support, commitment and generosity to Valley West Community Hospital over the years. We are especially thankful for the generosity of community members despite the hard economic times. We are so grateful to have the opportunity to meet and spend this time with our donors,” said Ellingson.

Valley West Community Hospital and the Kishwaukee Health Foundation are part of the KishHealth System based in DeKalb.
